Following the discovery of a near-complete carnyx at an Iron Age hoard in west Norfolk, we hear a demonstration from trombone player Professor John Kerry.

These animal-headed bronze instruments were used by Celtic tribes across Europe to inspire warriors into battle.

nice impressive demo of loud speaker device long before electricity amplified human voices. If today batteries run empty without chance of rechargement this instrument is better than no voice at all.

This is a piece from a local artist, (Abraham Cupeiro') that plays ancient instruments, at Vigo's celta futbol stadium. You can imagine what a group of Karnyx could do before a battle
