There are a few vocal members of the Pixelfed community that are upset that I'm busy with Loops.
I spent 8 years building Pixelfed, it's the 2nd most popular fediverse platform.
Loops is almost ready for v1.0 release, which I can then jump back full time to Pixelfed again.
8 years. I can't take a few months off?
Like, I never took a vacation until FediCon, and even then it was about Pixelfed.
I understand the frustration, but at the same time, I'm building Loops, not wasting my time.

People are very selfish. If they're upset, then they must create their own platforms.
@dansup in my decades of writing open source software by far my favourite response to people like that who complain is “pull requests welcome!”
@dansup People always feel entitled to free stuff. Don’t take it personally as it will tire you out. We have lost so many tanlented open source devs because of this. Try to ignore, and keep up the good work. 🙂

@dansup You are not a supplier. Stay focused on the things that bring you joy!
@dansup It's not hard to understand why people want updates to software you've developed, but they should remember that you prepare it for free; they should be grateful for what they have, not demanding more.
At the same time, you should learn to have a team. Development of major projects like Loops and Pixelfed should not depend so much on you. Aim to be able to spend a month on a beach somewhere without worrying about them.
