@mckra1g streets. We have to be in the streets. Now. And every day. Massive peaceful demonstrations.
Will we? I have my doubts.
@constantorbit @mckra1g streets? Is that even enough?
@CatDragon @constantorbit @mckra1g We have to organize in a way that we haven't in many, many decades. It has to be whole cities being shut down by walkouts. School walk-outs, strikes and not once a month. It has to be day-to-day. We have to take turns rotating in and out. Camped in the streets.
Once a month or even once a week, if only for a few hours at a time will not get it done.
We have to stop the normal functioning of American life. Nothing short of that will get it done.
@CatDragon @constantorbit @mckra1g That also means finding the resources to survive during such disruption. Some people will loose jobs. Many people may loose jobs. This isn't something we accomplish with minimal disruption to or stable lives.
It's what others have done before us. The 1800s and early 1900s, the labor movement being the most obvious example but there have been many such movements. All beaten down with violence.
It means living on less. It means risk. Everyday.
