When I grew up, the US had a legislative branch called Congress, and it was full of human beings with a backbone; but kids these days do not believe me when I mention it.

I was slightly surprised a few years ago, when I watched an early '90s very detailed BBC documentary about Nixon/Watergate. The GOP back then, behaved just like today. The only thing that worked to change their votes/opinions, was the incontrovertible evidence of ... 'the tapes'.

@randahl ...and although the chambers in which those long ago alive but now dead bodies met are these days quite often empty, it turns out that even when all the currently elected members of those fictions are actually in those chambers, those chambers remain.....empty...
