Because laws don't matter in our courts anymore, because we are no longer a nation of laws. One dictator kidnapped and jailed another.
U.S. capture of Maduro may be illegal; that probably won’t matter in court https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/01/03/maduro-indictment-drugs-international-law/

@jeffjarvis makes me wonder how many trump coins his presidential pardon will cost
our dictator also just pardoned a Honduran drug lord so.........
the Maduros could maybe use that as a defense and ask for the cases to be dismissed
A nation of thugs... welcome to the mob.
And oligarchs pulling the strings, btw...
Looks like a reverse 1930s scenario, feels like we ended up in an alternative reality.
@jeffjarvis
Let the #shamtrials begin ... and afterwards the #hungergame starring #maduro ?
@jeffjarvis Based on the doj’s current success rate I do believe maduro and wife will walk to a different country. the US has no proof of what they are looking to charge him with. We will continue being the laughing stock of the planet, unfortunately.
@jeffjarvis They're not US citizens, whatever they're accused of didn't happen on US soil. The court has no jurasdiction (and it's a show trial anyway).
The ICC is exactly for this situation but the US refuse to recognise them.
