@rbreich 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Not that I disagree with union power but they have mostly become sinecures for bureaucrats who deal with the bureaucrats of #1. IMHO.

@rbreich Liberal politics is just like hitting the reset button on capitalism.
The rules which caused the mess dont change you just reset the playing field.
@rbreich Add to your list:
- Prohibit the trading on public exchanges of non-voting classes of shares.
- Enforce the laws about fiduciary responsibilities of corporate directors so that they learn that "increasing shareholder value" is *not* a legitimate basis for corporate decision making.
- Bring back the BOIS (beneficial ownership system) of the Financial Crimes group of the FBI.
- Require that use of corporate assets for political purposes must be approved, on a per-expense basis, by unanimous vote of *all* classes of shareholders.
@rbreich that’s not going to be enough. Reform isn’t the way.
@rbreich Make stockholders liable for the actions of the corporations. So, for example, if a corporation's actions amounts to manslaughter, don't simply punish the corporate officers. Confiscate stock from the stockholders and sell it off in order to pay cash settlement. The current situation of protecting individual stockholders from legal liability of actions taken by the corporation creates incentives for corporate officers to do bad things to increase the value of the stock.
@rbreich Still posting at the Nazi Bar that is Substack, indicating his values are meaningless, just like his words.
@rbreich #3 should be #0, this is the entire thing. Break that, make the legislature accountable to the people, and everything gets fixed.
@rbreich
No way to seperatepolitics and economy.
That all is made to act for the politics.
@rbreich The people in power are the same people profiting from all these things. They won't change any of it unless they're made to, and there is no one left with the power to make them do it.
