just playing "Care" by Shriekback from 1983. I've listened to this on and off since and today it sounds just a ridiculously good and 10/10 bangers album.

@davidgerard They're just so good!
@davidgerard Oh cool! I loved Oil & Gold. Will need to give this a spin - thx!

If you are so inclined, you can pay them £7 for a digital download in WAV format:
https://shriekback.com/album/1511604/care-extras-remastered
and this is my single favourite Shrikeback, track, the 6-minute remix version of "Accretions" from Tench
I have the EP in a box on the shelf over there, bought in 1983?84?
i don't think it's available in 2025 anywhere, including the band's download page
it is available! it's just *finding* anything on the band's site is aaaaaargh

here's the album https://shriekback.com/album/1515490/peel-sessions-and-singularities
@davidgerard I'd no idea that they'd done so much after the first couple of albums.
@davidgerard #shriekback #music #obscurantism You could try "Rem Koolhaas Stole My Shovel" too. It's one of the extras on Having a Moment.
@davidgerard I saw Shriekback open for Simple Minds at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1985. Shriekback blew them away. I've been to my fair share of concerts, but that Shriekback set is perhaps the most electrifying live performance I've ever seen. Barry Andrews was on fire - he made a hockey arena feel like a small club.
@davidgerard they’re still around you know. Their latest album “Monument” is the best since String or Fish. But yeah Care is amazing!
