So I gave an old set of AirPods to a friend after removing them from Find My, but when we open the case it still says "Not your AirPods, Christian will be able to see your location". Held down the button on the back for 15 seconds, etc. What do?

@christianselig I had the same issue when I gave mine to my dad. I had to remove them multiple times for some reason, they kept reappearing.

@christianselig I’ve had a bunch of old AirPods repeatedly reappearing in my Bluetooth settings despite being remove, deleted, reset and sold to someone else months ago. Even had an old pair reappear in find my. Shockingly bad.

@christianselig Did you only remove them from FindMy or also from your Apple account? Are they still visible in your Apple account?

@teotwaki None of my (even existing) AirPods are visible under my Apple account, only computers/devices

@christianselig @JonathanGulbrandsen If I remember right @jsnell had an article about this very thing this year. I can't find it so hopefully he can help out (assuming my memory isn't off).

@christianselig just the waiting part 😆 “Your AirPods don't have to be connected via Bluetooth to your device — but the process might happen more quickly if your AirPods are Bluetooth-connected and within Bluetooth range of your device.”
