This Bloomberg video deserves a billion views:

When a Tesla catches fire, often occupants cannot get out, because the electric doors become inoperable.

As a result humans are burned to death.

@randahl Ah, how I long to the days gone by when I could tune up my Chevy with a crescent wrench, pliers, screwdriver and a matchbook cover. (that was the complete toolkit, didn't really need the wrench). Things are just too Damn complex anymore. 🤣 😂 🤣 😂

@randahl If I were an asshole type of person I'd say "Well, one less Tesla owner!" but you know... I'm not *that* much of an asshole.

Reminds me of the apocryphal claim that in the 19th century, the technological and financial marvel that was the railroad industry, determined that, in the event of passenger train derailments, dead passengers were much cheaper to deal with than injured passengers. Wags said that was why passenger cars each had an ax nearby.

@randahl not surprising that tesla doesn’t take any responsibility but disappointing that US regulators are so slow to act. Hopefully China and Europe will force change. This should also be one more reason to boycott tesla.

Tesla's door design is a analogous to the world Elon Musk & his fossil fuel funded fascists are building.

A burning planet where no one is permitted to free themselves from the oil industry's control.

Trapped by megalomaniacs who control the exits.

@randahl Elon Musk is featured in that video twice, and in the one bit of audio he says they've changed the door handles and incidents are now virtually zero.

Just another lie from the idiot "genius".

@randahl Wow. I had the impression that Tesla had excellent engineers and that if it weren't for Musk, the company would deserve respect.

It's terrible that such a problem exists.

It's very unfortunate that companies (even greedy and anti-consumer ones) from democratic countries are unable to compete with Chinese companies in the field of electric cars
