You can shit on liquid glass all day and night but you can't deny it's just so much more refined than whatever iOS 18 tried to be.

@dimillian I prefer "whatever iOS 18 tried to be". 🤷♂️
That said, I haven't found Liquid Glass to be that bad. But I am looking forward to future updates where I can get rid of more of the "glass". ("Tinted" as it is in 26.2 is too ugly in places like Notifications.)
@dimillian bad UX design is the need to feel the need to constantly change an interface for the sake of it. That’s not utility and frustrates people that get used to an interface for it to suddenly change and have to learn something new. Make interfaces into skins and give the user some sense of control over what works for them or not be subjected to a forced upgrade. Whoever mentioned accessibility problems, spot on
@dimillian I’m using Voice Control accessibility feature and iOS 26 sucks fucking ass. I’m regretting ever updating to this buggy, illegible shit, and yeah, I waited to version 26.2
Pull your head out of your rectum, maybe you’ll hear what ie disabled in various ways has to say about it.
You have a habit of stating opinions as facts, don’t be surprised by hostile replies.
@tad I don't care about hostile replies. But Apple fucking up accessibility was not on my list. Ice Cubes implement most of the API we're given from Apple, but nothing I can do around that.
@dimillian One thing I would change on your LQ design, would be to match corners of bottom corners of this action bar (?) on top of image picker to match corners of image picker itself.
Hope that's clear 😅
@dimillian Agree 100% I think it’s a really nice step forward. Familiar but fresh. Apps that don’t use iOS 26 controls and Liquid Glass feel very dated.
@dimillian I personally like it. Folks shit on each new version of iOS and have done so for 15 years. I just ignore them.
@dimillian In a screen like the one you shared it really looks good, maybe even better and you did a great job adopting it for ice cubes🧊 But I also agree with that it has a lot of flaws like constantly wanting my attention when it really should let others shine
@dimillian
Refined? You've probably made a mistake in word "ruined"
@dimillian I do appreciate that the toolbar buttons actually look like buttons again, but I absolutely hate the way the interface elements alternate between light and dark modes depending on what’s underneath them. And in your screens, the information density on the bottom part of the view is much better on iOS 18.
@dimillian refined? I mean, it's littered with messy UI, uneven spacing, unreadable text and chaotic overlayed menus. Maybe you mean refined as in "when it works the UI looks classy"?
@dimillian Ice Cubes is the only app I use that actually shows that Liquid Glass can be nice.
@dimillian OK, thank you, I’ll shit on liquid glass all day and night.
