I am deeply saddened for my granny , who spent the last two years of her life amidst #war , #genocide & destruction. she suffered from Alzheimer's—it wasn't chronic—& she would constantly ask me, ‘ What is this sounds ?', 'Why are we not at home ?', 'Why is there no food?' I kept telling her it was bc the world imposed this pain upon us, but she would forget. Perhaps that Alzheimer was a gift from heaven, granted to lessen the impact of such devastating news on her heart & mind.
