I guess immigrant & work visas are officially “pay-to-play” now in #America 🇺🇸.

👉🏾 #Trump has authority to impose $100,000 fee on H-1B visas: judge https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/12/24/judge-trump-authority-fee-h1b-visas/87905814007/

With the launch of https://TrumpCard.gov (which costs $1,000,000 plus $15,000 processing fee) which appears to replace EB-1 & EB-2 visa holders, only the affluent will be able to afford these visas.

USA TODAY

Trump allowed to impose $100K fee on H-1B visas, judge rules

A judge upheld Trump's authority to impose a $100,000 fee on H-1B visas, which are popular among tech and universities to hire skilled workers.

@darnell No. Worse.

How you use that lever:
- Get people on work visa
- Corp fronts the money
- Make them "pay back" the 1M from salary to corp
- Have a _very_ nasty lever to do to eployees whatever nastiness the corporate desires

That concept used to be a thing in coal mines nearly two centuries ago already... and it is as wrong now as it was then... -.-'
