I really really love my steam deck, and your observations about being comfortable managing windows because you grew up with it are perfectly fine. No pitchfork raids here

@Techaltar I am happy I finally got out of Microsoft ecosystem, with gaming being the last bit a few weeks ago.
I got too annoyed by Windows pushing ads or “suggestions” despite being a paying 365 subscriber, so I started leaving Microsoft in April.
I was surprised how games just worked on Debian 13, KDE desktop, with Steam or Heroic Games Launcher. Swiching my gaming was easier than leaving Outlook e-mail, which took 15 hours of work. I hope to see a dedicated Linux gaming laptop after the RAM crunch subsides, like Steam Machine type internals in a thin laptop frame.

@Techaltar Very interesting points for such a nebolous topic. I'd have included the unavoidible 'Deck Verified' program which bridges the device with console-like systems. For both users and, more importantly, developers, so they target explicitly the Deck like they do for consoles. This is what really separates the Steam from any other PC, handheld or not, Windows or else, in my opinion.
