Crypto is commonly believed to facilitate anonymous transactions. The belief is false. See the book "Tracers in the Dark" by Andy Greenberg. (several YouTube videos on this, interviews etc).
The blockchain is effectively an immutable public ledger that can be analysed and used to trace transactions. Companies such as Chainalysis have been set up to do it and have proven hugely successful. The top 3 largest criminal asset recoveries in US history were all a result of tracing crypto transactions.
@randahl Quite interesting. But, why aren't these people, including president Pinocchio in jail ?
Does anybody know about this in the US? Do they agree with it?
