Absolutely, @bjoernsta ! The numbers behind #SaveSocial clearly show that German civil society is mobilizing.
Based on experiences in Brazil and Europe, I’ve seen that fragmentation can unintentionally weaken political leverage. While petitions are essential for mobilizing citizens at the national level, the #LeaveX campaign focuses on a different layer of power: the European politicians and institutions that continue to legitimize X despite its growing role in political destabilization.
The Leave X campaign centers precisely on this legitimacy gap. Combining citizen mobilization with European-level political pressure could have a greater impact than either approach alone.
We’d be open to exploring how these efforts could converge.
