Btw do we have any RedHat Australia people on the Fediverse? I'm staying super close to their Sydney HQ, would love to learn more about opensource in Aus. 🦘🇦🇺

@Gina I am based out of Melbourne, several folks have mentioned @kattekrab who knows everyone who is anyone and a few of us that aren't.

Sydney is primarily a sales office, though, so lower concentration of tech folks than other places.

@Gina I once applied for a job at their (now closed) Brisbane office. Much earlier in my career and bombed the interview. 😆

Redhat is owned by IBM. Not sure their view on open source is what it used to be nowadays.

@Gina Dunno. I know we have @fedora here, but it doesn't look like there's anybody specific to Australia. Maybe they could point you in the right direction?

@Gina Not me (getting that out of the way).

North Sydney? If your hotel had a couple of complimentary Carlton Crowns in your room, I think I've stayed there. 😄

Though that was during the Sydney Olympics and just before the dotcom pop, so maybe the meh-but-free beer is history...
