A reminder;
For as long as the majority of kiwis do our social networking and access media via DataFarming platforms, owned and controlled by US technofascists, our democracy will be distorted by the effects of those platforms. So any kiwi who cares about the independence of our country, and our freedom to be self-governing - as a whole, as communities and as citizens - needs to start caring about digital sovereignty.

Your organisation can do it's internal communications on a non-corporate service, whether self-hosted, community-hosted or hosted for you by a social enterprise. You don't need corporate platforms for that, and letting them host and effectively control your internal communications makes you either their ally or their serf.

If the digitally sovereign platforms you choose for your internal organisation can also do public communications, via the web, email newsletters, the fediverse and other open protocols, so much the better. Because the more organisations communicate this way, the more people there are who can be reached this way. The less we need to maintain a minimal presence on the DataFarms to point the General Public (™️) to our own services, on our own domains.

Speaking of digital sovereignty and strategically reducing dependence on DataFarming technofascists ...
I just found out why there was a day or 2 of outages on;
They've moved from their original, newspaper style website, to a more minimalist, mobile-style layout.
It seems it's still a WordPress site. But it's severely broken, at least in the Firefox-based browser I'm using. Even when allowing the third-party scripts it tries to load from at least 3 Goggle domains.
You can see lots of detail below about this and any other website with strong pointers on how to solve lots of the bottlenecks.
