For over a year I’ve been gathering documents from the #Washington state department of #archaeology and historic preservation, trying to make sense of how their permitting system works. Trying to understand why it’s so hard for #Indigenous people to protect their heritage from development, even when the state archaeologist is trying to help. This is what I’ve found. 🔍
