Sigh, I'm reviewing fellowship applications and it's unbelievable how many of them are just "AI" slop that has not even been read by the applicants:
This includes writing their bios – to the point that the "AI" lost the plot somewhere along the way, giving conflicting info about their field of study or the country they live/work in…
@mplouffe yeah, but it also means that now there's just a lot more low-quality applications to review than used to be the case. So it's still a net-time-sink :(
@gedankenstuecke @mplouffe Blacklist them for any future projects...
If they do this, imagine the quality they will deliver in actual work.
@gedankenstuecke @richlv @mplouffe Agree that it's important to let the funder know! On the kind side, it can be emerging from insecurity and lack of confidence in writing, which is sad, too.
