Finally got to the end of season 2 of Juggernaut, show covers the 1990s National government, and from 1996, the first Nat-led coalition resulting from MMP elections;

The contrast between the sound bites from veteran economist Susan St John and from former finance minister Ruth Richardson couldn't be more stark.

St John talks about the real human price of slashing social welfare spending and workers rights. A price the most vulnerable in the country continue to pay, to this day.

Richardson meanwhile dribbles neoclassical nonsense. Totally ignoring the impacts on real people, as if those are a reasonable price to pay for number-go-up in entirely theoretical economic measures like GDP (or number-go-up-less in the case of inflation).

The inherent sociopath of Ruthenasia has never been clearer.
