I just did a scan of almost 300 companies and applied to a dozen Sr/Staff SRE roles I found. I've already got screens scheduled with 4 of them, which is more movement than I expected, but maybe I hit the good list on https://stillhiring.today
I didn't really limit myself, if it was remote I applied. So I have a really weird cross section of verticals.
- There are a lot of AI startups of all kinds
- A handful of AI companies that were formerly not AI companies
- The second largest set feels like healthcare
- Still a strong showing in blockchain
- CRM of different kinds
It may come as no surprise that there aren't any companies out there that agree what a Staff SRE does.
