In this week's internet history post, I look back at the peak of Flash web design in 2003. In particular, the launch of BowieNet version 3 — designed completely in Flash (which made it a huge challenge to get screenshots from the Wayback Machine!). Also featured: MTV2 and tokyoplastic v1. Hat-tip to @alienmelon, who I quote on Flash history. https://cybercultural.com/p/bowienet-v3-flash-2003/ #InternetHistory #Flash

@ricmac @alienmelon From that time, I remember fondly Praystation, by Joshua Davis.

Do you remember the wonderful Motown Timeline that they did?

When Flash was buried, all of that work disappeared. I have this big hole in my heart and portfolio.

The wonderful Motown timeline, designed by Joshua Davis , depicted the story of the record label and all of its greatest stars, with sound and pictures. It has two designs, one dominant blue and one dominant red to depict two periods of music.

@wtrmt @alienmelon Interesting! I heard about Praystation and Joshua Davis while doing some other research, so I made a note to look further into his work.
