@wearenew_public Proprietary would-be "public goods" like this, even if controlled by a non profit, will always trend more and more toward enshittification and neglect.
Free and open source licensing of these tools and platforms are the only way, when built alongside an inclusive community with shared governance, to guarantee that these goods will remain open and truly public.
