Today in the classroom:

First year chem tests were okay. The biggest problem was on explanations and justifications, so we'll revisit writing good answers. Today, they're going to review the concept of unit conversions and ratios with three team challenges in the lab all based on mols.

Second year chem is finishing a simulation on bonding and practicing hybrid orbital formation/description/shapes.

First year chem events:

1. Measure an exact weird mol amount of water. Judged by mass on a high precision scale.

2. Build a tower of rubber stoppers. Calculate the height of one mol of _towers_.

3. Hypothetical time to make one mol of tally marks on a whiteboard. Use an average of five trials for the calculation. Fastest time wins.
