I posted a couple hours ago that I'm a lot less impressed with how F-Droid is being run than I was a week ago.
in part that's due to the response to what's going on with Syncthing, and in part it's due to a controversy from a couple months ago which I became aware of today.
tl;dr: F-Droid contributors decided to put a "NSFW" anti-feature flag on apps which contain religious texts including the Bible and the Quran. this had the effect of hiding such apps from search results by default and labeling them as promoting violence, pornography, or similar.
as you can imagine, it didn't go over well.
then, some F-Droid contributors responded in a manner which came across as dismissive and flippant in Gitlab issues and a forum thread.
it's worth noting that #FDroid has received taxpayer dollars on prior occasions.
