Listening to this podcast about First Amendment Auditors, I wonder if there were Marxist-Leninism Auditors harassing coalface public servants in the pre-collapse or post-collapse USSR. This behaviour seems like the US equivalent.

Later in the podcast David and Rob mention that First Amendment Auditors are like trolls who've climbed out of the computer.
This got me to thinking about a conversation I had recently about "AI" chatbots, where the Discworld stories about the Things from the Dungeon Dimensions came up. Particularly how they used people's fascination with magical new media (eg Moving Pictures, 1990) to punch holes into our reality.

Could this be a metaphor for the worse demons of our nature making use of new media as thin points in our social norms, to punch holes into everyday life? Like the trolls climbing out of the YouTub, harassing and doxxing part-time librarians?
