It’s so funny talking to liberals as a leftist because I know that they are right wing, but they didn’t know they were right wing until they talked to me

And it doesn’t even take radical Marxist shit to get there either, it’s super boring shit like, “Yeah we should make public transportation free” and suddenly they’re like, “oh my god but what if someone who doesn’t deserve it gets on the bus??”

@danirabbit 💯 Means testing, and concern about people getting good things they don't "deserve", is right-wing thinking for sure, no matter how much liberal rhetoric it's wrapped in. It's the Biblical #workethic — "He who will not work shall not eat" — which is a good candidate for the worst idea in the history of the world. It's #ArbeitMachtFrei.

@danirabbit

in my mind the notion that you need to "earn" things like being able to eat and have shelter is just inherently anti-human - and also the start of a slippery slope from just being a "liberal" into actual right-wing extremism

the cognitive leaps between ideas like "work requirement" to "you just don't deserve the same rights" to "slavery actually not that bad" to "I heart camps and deportations" aren't *that* big and it's wild seeing "liberals" on live TV leapfrogging them with glee
