@compassionatederby was good today.
We had a nice lunch upstairs, including a Samosa Chaat, and bought some rabbit-themed gifts.
We also listened to a talk given by the founders of the Brinsley Animal Rescue (https://brinsleyanimalrescue.org/) about the great work they do, and some examples of wildlife they have been able to nurse back to good health and release back into the wild.

To the left of the red line is before covid, where the number of pets turned away from the rescue (because they are full) went from around 550 a year in 2012, to just over 800 in 2019.
In 2020 it dips to around 700, and then 2021 it rises to 1100, and then to a crazy 1900 in 2023.

They regularly get 50 calls a day from people trying to dump their pets ;(
