I am back to trying to get a parallel port CD ROM running on the 486. It was already working, but very slowly, due to the PIO only parallel port on the multi I/O card. I now have a Holtek dual ECP/EPP card. I have jumpered the first port to 378, IRQ 7 and EPP. The BIOS recognizes the port, but the Freecom driver does not see the drive. Any ideas?
Do these cards need a DOS driver? Or will it work out of the box? Is the Freecom driver too limited?
