Related, many years ago UW had a citizen science program where they measured the discharge on Puget Sound of benign human-mediated chemicals such as vanilla, cinnamon, allspice, thyme, rosemary and caffeine.

Based on the amount of spice present during the holiday season, the implication was that Seattleites were eating on average two gingerbread cookies a day 馃槃
