Most people with any interest in tech or politics (and especially both) will have heard of Curtis Yarvin. But I still see little discussion of Nick Land, the Ayn Rand of our time. Who came up a lot of the anti-democratic, techno-accelerationist and self-important dogma preached by Yarvin and his ilk.

This short video by @Sisyphus55 gives some background, including his early association with Mark Fisher, which was news to me;

I was introduced to Nick Land by an old friend, whose own thinking has travelled from John Zerzan to Peter Sloterdijk. Passing through a Masters in International Relations that resulted in a flirtation with Peter Zeihan.

We've spent many an enjoyable day mind-westling and playing snap with references, and it's a good example of why it can be well worth maintaining friendships through times of intense political disagreement.
