any #erlang folks in my vicinity? i started an https://cabal.chat/ implementation in '23 between two jobs.. and well... i recently found some new free time in my life and resumed it.

You can find the code here: https://git.sr.ht/~cryptix/caberl

There are a lot of pieces missing, like overhauling the supervisor tree stuff so that loosing peer connections doesn't make the thing go belly up.. but..! it's getting there!

feedback welcome!

when i left of i only did clear-text tcp and the next step would be integrating the chosen transport crypto: noise ( https://github.com/cabal-club/cable/blob/main/handshake.md#3-noise-handshake )

at the time enoise didn't have PSK mode, which cabal needs but gladly now there was a PR for it by the maintainer and AFAICT it looks fine, though this math heavy crypto code is quite intense.

i ended up having to fork it _slightly_ since testing with cabal-handshake.ts revealed that they have different approaches to framing: https://github.com/aeternity/enoise/compare/master...cryptix:enoise:cable-fork
