To battle test our #OpenSource routing engine Rotonda, we are in dire need of a bare metal server. Can you help us?

We have several offers for #BGP feeds and in-kind rack space, but no capable server to continually run our tests on.

We realise this is a big ask, because it would have to be quite a beefy server with a lot of RAM (128GB+). If you are decommissioning old servers, or know of any way to help our #NonProfit foundation, please reach out.

Sharing is caring. 🧑

@nlnetlabs we’ll be deprecating hypervisors with lots of cores and RAM soon, I think they fit the bill, ping me on other channels πŸ˜‰

@nlnetlabs @jasper define $BEEFY

We have at least 2x 4U HPE Gen8 8-blade Xeon E5v2 chassis to decom and they'll take up to 512GB of DDR3 (tho that requires 64GB DIMMS - we have some of them populated with 32GB for 256GB) per blade and each will take certainly at least 2x 2x10GE NICs per blade (we have a fair few of the mezz cards and the regular PCI-E NICs).

Granted, this is an *old* platform, and not much use if you're fishing for 100G+ NICs, but DPDK should work, so maybe still useful?
