I've been slowly collecting all the OST CDs from Bubblegum Crisis with the intent of doing accurate rips of each of them as well as high-quality scans of the covers and booklets.
I'm really fond of this show and part of the reason why I want to do this conservation work specifically is that the only way to listen to its soundtrack nowadays is via the "remastered" releases on streaming services which are absolute garbage. And I mean real dumpster fire. 馃У 1/3
@gabrielesvelto Bubblegum Crisis is an absolute banger, it's a pity quite a few of the songs don't have a clean english version available.
What kind of garbage do you ask? Well, here's a comparison of the waveforms of the song "Mad Machine", from episode 2, a favorite of mine. The remastered version is on top. As you can see their idea of "remastering" is adding a load of compression, to the point of introducing clipping in the middle of the track. As you might imagine it sounds like shit. 2/3
