@decryption Thanks for this! It made me realize that the Model Railroader magazines I collected in my youth are over 50 years old, and I can probably let them go now. Also, there was (and is) a lot of overlap between model railroading and microcomputing. The 1977-09 issue of Model Railroader shows us a "typical" setup of the time.
@_the_cloud oh cool! i got these magazines off a man who is really into electronics (and his son is also really into electronics) - it feels like a lot of the people into model railroads got into computers/electronics too as the price of that hobby started to drop in te 70s/80s/90s
@decryption wow they really lost something with the 60s cover design. The 50s one is much nicer to my eyes.
@decryption also now I'm imagining a modern tech/computer magazine with ads in this style.
@decryption some of your train magazines are filed under woodwork; doesn't look like that's intentional
@neoluddite oops, yeah that's a mistake
Oooh, Mid-century Modern straight from the horses mouth!
@decryption Fantastic work! I sent through a few bucks for scanner fluid and pixel sharpeners.
@tj thanks mate - the rollers in my two little epson scanners are starting to wear out so I think this cash will be used to replace em soon :)
