Somebody posted an old photo in a Facebook local group and asked if anyone could clean it up. Well-meaning people turned to #AI. Lots of responders seemed happy with the results, but this is how you destroy historical records.

@Richard_Littler People have been mucking around with photos almost as long as there鈥檚 been photos. Probably not a big deal for class photos, but archives that preserve physical media seem more important than ever. It鈥檚 having trustworthy organizations and policies in place to keep originals that鈥檚 important and protecting them from political actors who might like to disappear or alter inconvenient images.
