@h4ckernews I read the article.
If I understand correctly, it sounds like you could potentially have a couple options if you wanted to use ssd for unpowered backups
1. Power them up every few months
2. Use them as swappable backups, so you are powering up and reusing every few months.
Because it sounded like even though the existing data would get corrupted after 1 to 3 years, the drive itself isn't damaged. You could power up, reformat, and not have damaged sectors (basically)?
