What do you recommend?
@0xabad1dea Always good advice! :3
@catsalad I recommend buying Christmas gifts in October and November.
@catsalad Cut the brown cable at first.
@catsalad Balvenie Caribbean Cask. Neat.
@catsalad Satisfactory, by Coffee Stain Studios. It's not the first factory-builder game, and I don't even think it's the first 3D one, but it is my very favorite one. I've played for over 1400 hours across 5-and-change total saves, and - with exceptions for "built the same kind of thing in the same kind of place" (there are areas of the map that lend themselves exceptionally well to specific functions, and the map is the same for each save) - they are all different.
I'm not even very GOOD at it, either - there's people out there crafting architectural masterpieces whereas I tend to just have lots of floating "shelves" of machines. That's okay though - it lends itself pretty evenly well to just about any (genre-appropriate) playstyle.
Is it a perfect game? FUCK no. But it's damn good, and I want more people to enjoy it with me.
@dave_cochran I own it (on the steam account my son inherited), just haven't played it yet.
I should definitely try it this week! :3
@catsalad note to self: reply to this when you're back at your big keyboard
@catsalad A hot bath/shower with regular lights off and just a string of fairy lights in the window, clean comfy clothes, a nice pot of tea, a heated super-plush throw blanket, and a (digital or hard copy) stack of well-written books in your favorite genre. If digital, an e-ink screen to read them on. Add non-human companions as desired.*
