Me explaining to my colleague what [insert any open source project, but today it was #Proxmox] is and how it works.
Colleague: "and people just.. built *this*? On their own? For free?? I don't even know how a toaster works."

@Gina i don't fully understand how a toaster works, but i can tell you how an x86 computer boots
i understand the concept of an electric heating coil, but if you ask me to build you a toaster, i will probably heat up your house, not your bread
@libreleah @Gina you might want to compare your design ideas to Gyro Gearloose's in the Story "Toaster Trouble" from 1962 (an original Carl Barks story) …
