A taiwanese "Laptop 3120" from the #fleamarket.

Regardless of the naming, you don't want this thing on the top of your lap.

It's heavy. It has a 286, plasma display, HD + floppy. Probably CGA video.

It's also very dead.

Well, it powers on. I can hear the hd spinning up, but that's it.

It's sitting on a table with loads of other junk.

And, if you open it up, it has battery carnage.

The poor 286 took some of the corrosion too.

I don't have time to completely disassemble it, wash it, scrape, tin and patch the traces. This'll probably have to wait a vacation.

For now, I'll snip the battery away, clean with some vinega and a brush, and then wash away with alcohol. Should stabilize it enough to wait for a better occasion.

Next step for this taiwanese Laptop will be to dump the ROMs and save them to archive.org

Will get to that next week.
