I've been slogging away at #hades2 and really loving it, I've "beat" Chronos 8 times now (yeah me!) but Typhon? Totally different level of hard. I've made it to him 2 times and I've got a lot yet to learn about the 3 bosses BEFORE him.

This is where a roguelike really can rub you the wrong way. I don't mind trying something over and over, but if I have to play 30 minutes EACH TIME I fail, that really slows things down.

I know, I've 'figured a boss out" many times already. Maybe I'm just done?

@scottjenson I thought that it鈥檚 impossible. But I also thought this at Chronos. Typhon is a bit harder. I can beat it if I have at least 400 HP and I focus on Strength instead of Death Defiance. Keep practicing and you will beat it. It鈥檚 a really balanced and polished game, it was designed to try it more times and eventually you will prevail at the end.

@scottjenson relatable. i felt the same frustration, and resolved it by save scumming to give myself more practice. its easy to do. before entering the typhon, find the directory where your save file is stored and rename ProfileX_Temp.sav to ProfileX.sav, where X=1,2,3 or 4 depending on the save slot you use

@scottjenson no problem. just remember that when you die, you need to pause and give up quickly before entering the crossroads again in order to make the save file bot remember your death

@sophiehuiberts "give up quickly" => pause menu, quit game, find and rename file then restart game?

@scottjenson yes, just pause and give up. you dont need to close the game window, but you should be on the title screen (so not the file select menu) while renaming your file

make sure to back up your save file directory if you are nervous about messing up

@scottjenson and directly when you die, hit pause, give up, and load back in. we do this a lot for speedrunning practice

I'm going to figure it out. Maybe I've just been playing a bit TOO much this weekend and I need to take a break
