I had a nightmare the other night. I dreamt that someone told me we don’t use alt tags for screen readers any more, that there was something new … but nobody would tell me what I could use now.

@podfeet I'm starting to think your dream might not quite be as far-fetched as it might seem. We're starting to include AI in screen readers and use screen-reader assistance tools like Guide and Viewpoint to accessify the inaccessible. I'd be happy to chat more about all this sometime as I'm involved in some of this work.

@podfeet And even another angle to all this is how even one of our screen-reader makers is causing a digital divide within our divide by deciding their AI is for sale only to the highest bidders.
