So in practicing with the tin whistle, seeing folks suggest getting a metronome (and even a tuner later on when I buy one that can be tuned)...
...and I found out they make apps for that now. Tuners and metronomes...

@tinker I play Ukulele and personally like the "gStrings" Android tuner app because it also tells you the octave... But with the whistle you probably don't need it much (if you're off by an octave, something went really really wrong 🤣🤣)
Anyway, bear in mind that app tuners of course pick up ambient noise so they're unreliable if there's other sounds going on.
Have fun learning a new instrument! I just got me a baritone uke and it's lovely.

@humanhorseshoes - I hear a lot of kids, especially in Ireland and other places, practice on a tin whistle in school. For me it was the recorder! that was fun to play as well.
Funny you should mention that. I bought myself a tenor recorder not too long ago to try and learn it as an adult.
