Close to the sea, down by the water..

#Photo #Water #NorthernGermany #sea

It is a cold and sunny day. Some few clouds hang in the blue sky. The sun is already low and about to set.

You are looking south south east.

Water rippling at some rotting wooden mooring posts close to the mouth of the River Elbe and the North Sea - Baltic Sea Channel. In the background a trading ship, a socalled Feeder, is waiting for a Pilot to board for setting off towards open water.

You hear the distant rumbling of the freighter's engines and the delicate sound of small waves hitting the coastline.

Behind you on a small grassy hill is a sea traffic light showing red lights indicating an occupied lockage.

There are exits south along the shore towards a light tower, northwest back to the lockage and a ladder leading down to the water.
