@decryption Those scanners are insane. We use a very similar model for very high volume scanning and OCR in a medical records setting.

@decryption I'm running a crusty old Canon 8800F flatbed and Vuescan. It does slides and negatives. Allegedly optical res of 4800x9600 and 48bit. But really? Dunno.

@nygl most of the cost of these things is the feeding mechanism i reckon - over engineered so it can meet the 300,000 pages a day duty cycle

@decryption have you looked at using photocopiers as well? Maybe a refurbished one could help?

@VWDasher the scanners in those usually aren’t much better than the ones I’ve already got (as in ppm performance) - but if there’s a good one out there I could be tempted

@decryption fair enough. I've used one when doing an awful lot of scanning for a job but they are more buggering around with to get the files saved than a speed scanner.
