Hey, #cis people. I know that many of you are asking yourself why you should care.

Here's a reason. While we are a tiny minority, any single person you know might be #trans. If you feel that lighting a candle on this day for them, maybe your sibling, your parent, your child, your partner, your best friend, would feel awful, you should care.

Maybe help make a less hateful world. Maybe help make a world that values dignity over convenience. Maybe ask if outrageous claims that demonize a person or a group have corroborating facts before shrugging your shoulders.

#TransDayOfRemembrance is very much a "the name you want to see least could be here" day.
