I'm running a German-speaking Mastodon instance with half-open registration. So when I receive an account application in English, it's almost always from a bot or click-worker/slave trying to create sleeper accounts for use in spam campaigns. Here is a rather disingenious, very generic application that came in today:

I would like to register on this site to explore its features, connect with the community, and contribute valuable insights. I’m genuinely interested in engaging with discussions, learning from others, and sharing meaningful content that aligns with the platform’s purpose and values.

If you see something like this, please do not approve the account.

As usual, the wannabe spammer's e-mail address matches the regex [a-z]+[0-9]+@gmail\.com.
