The grapefruit tree overestimated its own strength when it set all this fruit. 馃槱

In hindsight I should have removed half the fruit.

This is about half of the tree.

#garden

A multi-branched piece of grapefruit tree lies on the ground. Many fruit can be seen amongst the leaves. Another 20 or so fruit are in containers in the foreground.

@bigblen
Oh no!
Is it the whole tree or only a branch?

@bigblen

My parents had a peach tree. We fertilized it heavily the first year we we were in the house. The tree had so much fruit that year it bent, and remained that way the rest of its life.

Did the branch break off under the weight?

@futuresprog on closer inspection, I believe that it was sabotage!

Two 4cm wooden circles, the matching parts of broken tree trunk. About half the circumference has been eaten away to a depth of nearly 1cm. One side has a lengthways hole
