Remember this cop who tried to run over a man in Baltimore last month?

There was an update in the story recently and Officer Robert A. Parks has been suspended from the force and faces up to 65yrs in jail.

One of the extremely alarming details about this situation is how Baltimore cop Robert A. Parks attempted to construct a situation to cause someone to run. Before attempting to hit the man with his car the cop threatened the man with entrapment to create a reason for a K9 officer to attack the man with dogs.

The cop then proceeds to attempt to hit the man with his car, causing him to run, THEN radios for backup with the fact the man was running as the only reason.

The indictment alleges that on October 27 around 5:00 p.m., Officer Parks drove to Wylie Liquors Bar in the 3100 block of Wylie Avenue, where several people were standing on the sidewalk.

At that time, Parks exited his police vehicle and approached the civilians.

Parks said, "It’s getting a little hot, guys. I just need you guys to take a lap, you know.”

One of the people began walking away, and as the other people walked away, Parks got back into his patrol vehicle and drove a brief way westbound on Wylie Avenue before stopping along the curb to the right of the first person who had left the liquor store corner.

At that time, Parks called that person by name to come over, and got out of his vehicle again.

Parks said, "Don’t make it worse. I’m going to be straight up with you. I’m going to be straight up with you. You gotta come...”

Then, Parks motioned with his index finger that that person should walk towards him.

That person proceeded to say, "No," and turned and began walking away.

As the person left the area, Parks yelled out, "all right, I’m gonna call the dogs and come get you."

Parks returned to his patrol car, and said on the police radio, "“I have one running, adult male...in the alley."

Next, Parks proceeded to drive his police cruiser into a paved driveway directly at the person with increasing speed.
