@futurebird @TheBreadmonkey @KevBot Thank you! I used to have really nice mid-century furniture, but it got destroyed by movers when going from Detroit to Chicago, so I just sort of gave up on nice things since I move a lot.
But the sturdy little metal doodads have survived, so I'm happy to lug them along with me.
I also have a lot of cool vintage projectors (both slide and film), but I rotate them out whenever I move depending on whatever can fit wherever.
In this apartment, I only had a narrow space for an end table so I found this little thing and my two Airequipt projectors happened to fit perfectly on the shelves.
I found the green one first and then the brown one years later. The green is my favorite, but I figured I'd pick up the brown one so they wouldn't be lonely.

I like to imagine you have classy rooftop parties where you project spliced together films on a big wall (probably a mix of old French cinema and Ken Russell movies) whilst effortlessly cool people drink cocktails out of china teacups and dance to.... I've blanked. Electro jazz? What are cool people supposed to listen to? Folk..... Hiphop? I feel sure it's probably fusion of some kind. Classical versions of punk covers? Punk covers of classical music? I've lost my point.

@TheBreadmonkey @futurebird @KevBot We do all of this except it's just the two of us drinking a box of wine while playing YouTube karaoke videos of '90s hip hop songs on a 12" laptop while a little $20 plastic spaceman lamp from Amazon blasts a fake aurora borealis on the ceiling.
Genuine first thought of 90s hip hop was MC Hammers Addams Family Groove and I am 100% down with the whole scene. Boxwine, sick beats, and a laser show.

Ah, my brain just saw that and thought 'welp, those guys have got an enigma machine' and just went on with my normal thinking. Calculator makes much more sense.
@TheBreadmonkey @futurebird @KevBot It's a "check protector" but it's too soon to confirm if it's not also an enigma machine. I’m going to continue trying different number combinations until I reach my goal.

They will stamp ANYTHING and some have little customizable logo plates.
And they are made of the world's best green textured metal, why is nothing like that anymore?
